Bidding Farewell to a Stellar Research Assistant: Sion's Journey at the Javid Lab

Date: July 21st, 2023

As the academic year draws to a close, the Javid Laboratory takes a moment to bid a heartfelt farewell to Sion, a brilliant undergraduate research assistant.

During her time in the Javid lab, Sion was involved in the investigation of mistranslation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis being undertaken by, a now former post-doc, Sakshi Agarwal. She continued Sakshi's work for her remaining time in lab, and passed on all of the complex techniques she learned before departing. She leaves us to continue pursuing her education, focusing on applications to medical school in the coming year.

On her last day, the lab gather for ice cream at Bi-Rite Creamery, and enjoyed it on the grass of the Mission-Delores park while reflecting on Sion's time in the lab.

Farewell, Sion! You will forever remain a cherished part of the Javid Lab family.
