Ivona Sutilovic

Undergraduate Research Associate

 

Ivona grew up in San Francisco, California and is currently attending UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Previously, she worked at the DeRisi Lab at UCSF working to make a reproducible mathematical tool to identify pathogens in patients that have undergone a bone marrow transplant. In the Javid lab, she is currently studying to develop a method for infecting macrophages with Mycobacterium abscessus (Mab). She got the Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) Summer 2025 Award and Fellowship.

Outside of the lab, she can be found training to perform ballet and traveling.
